May 2019 Business Meeting

May 19, 2019

2:00 PM – Meet & Greet/Order Donuts/Drinks

2:15 PM – Official LPGC Business Meeting

  • Call to Order, Carol Moyer

  • Acknowledge a Quorum/Adopt Agenda

Carol Moyer, Kyle Garrett present

  • Read/Approve minutes from the previous business meeting

  • Adopt the rules for the meeting

  • Treasurer Report

    • $139.64 in PayPal account

  • Old Business

    • Park in Patoka – Carol spoke with town councilman Christian Hartley and he stated the park may be getting moved due to a possible expansion of the firehouse. He will keep us updated.

    • Radio/Newspaper Ad – both of these have been postponed for right now due to lack of funds

    • Gibson County Fair

      • Paid in full

      • July 7-13th

      • Will have a minimum of 25 shirts available for sale

      • Will have a minimum of 50 grab bags available to give out to those who take the political quiz

    • Owensville Watermelon Festival

      • July 25-27th

  • New Business

      • Ink Pens - $39 for 100

        • Indy Pride Festival – 11am-1pm (Carol and Kyle will be going if we do not have to work)

        • Vincennes Pride Festival – 4pm-11pm (Carol and Kyle cannot attend as we have prior engagements)

      • July 21-27th

        • Knox County Fair – 4 pm – 8 pm (Carol and Kyle will attend to assist on July 21st – we cannot attend through the week due to work, cannot attend on the 25th - 27th as we will be in Owensville at the Watermelon Festival)

June 2019 Business Meeting

June 30, 2019

2:00 PM – Meet & Greet/Order Donuts/Drinks

2:15 PM – Official LPGC Business Meeting

  • Call to Order, Carol Moyer

  • Acknowledge a Quorum/Adopt Agenda

  • Read/Approve minutes from the previous business meeting

  • Adopt the rules for the meeting

  • Treasurer Report

    • $16.16 in PayPal account

  • Old Business

    • Park in Patoka – the park is being kept up, still no news on whether the park will be moved as of now.

  • New Business

    • Fair Attendance

      • We must attend each day to get the $100 deposit back

      • We will be there every day from 4-8pm (the merchant building doesn’t open until 4, except for July 9th and it opens at 2 pm on this day)

    • Grab Bags were scratched due to lack of funding.

      • Instead of grab bags, those who take the political quiz will have their choice of an ink pen or a key chain.

    • Food Items

      • Chips 50 cents

      • Bottled Water $1

      • Cans of Pop $1

    • The banner is set for delivery on Monday, July 1st

    • T-shirts

      • We will have a minimum of 25 shirts for sale to generate revenue

      • Price for shirts will be $13

    • Business Cards

      • Pass out to everyone who stops at the booth

    • Dates to Assist Knox County

      • July 21-27th

        • Knox County Fair – 4 pm – 8 pm (Carol and Kyle will attend to assist on July 21st – we cannot attend through the week due to work, cannot attend on the 25th - 27th as we will be in Owensville at the Watermelon Festival)

    • Owensville Watermelon Festival

      • Same as fair – sell shirts, use the political quiz to engage people and give them their choice of pen or key chain as a token for taking the quiz.

    • Approximately 20,000 acres of land in Gibson County has been dedicated to a future wind farm. News outlets state there is a potential for $58 million dollars in property tax revenue to the county over the span of 30 years. We need to find out what the county plans to do with this additional revenue.

August 2019 Business Meeting/Special Convention

August 18, 2019

  • Call to Order, Carol Moyer

  • Acknowledge a Quorum/Adopt Agenda

    • Present Carol Moyer, Kyle Garrett, Zack Alkire

    • Motion to adopt agenda made by Carol More, 2nd by Kyle Garrett, 3 Yay, 0 Nay

  • Read/Approve minutes from previous business meeting

    • Minutes from June meeting were approved and read by Carol Moyer

  • Adopt the rules for the meeting

    • Rules for the meeting were presented by Carol Moyer. Kyle Garrett 2nd the rules, 3 yay, 0 nay

  • Treasurer Report

    • We currently have $2.36 in our PayPal account

  • Old Business

    • Park in Patoka

      • The park is being kept up. There is still no news on whether the park is going to be moved.

    • Gibson County Fair

      • The fair went well. We made several new contacts. We had a drawing for a free shirt or decal. We went live on Facebook for that drawing and Laurence Smith was the winner and he chose to receive a shirt. That shirt was mailed out to him.

  • New Business

    • Golden Heritage Days

      • We need to check into having a booth, mainly the cost.

    • New Contacts from Fair

      • Discussed what to do with the contact information we received from the new contacts from the fair. We are going to send periodic newsletters to these individuals, in the hopes they will decide to start being an active part of the party.

    • Bank Account

      • Kyle is working on getting the account setup at Old National Bank. They need a copy of the minutes from this meeting and a copy of our bylaws which show who is allowed to sign on the account.

    • Amendment to Bylaws for the Bank Account

      • Carol Moyer made a motion to amend the bylaws to allow for the addition of signing on the bank account to be added to the description of the Chairperson and the Treasurer. Kyle Garrett 2nd, 3 yays, 0 nays.

  • Carol Moyer makes a motion to adjourn the meeting. Kyle Garrett 2nd, 3 yays, 0 nays. Meeting is adjourned.

The meeting for July was cancelled.
